Job Summary:
As the Supply Chain Engineer for Glasseal Products: Malysia, you will lead and coordinate all activities and development of the supplier base for products manufactured in the Penang facility. Your primary goal is to ensure the development and management of a versatile and effective set of suppliers. You will act as the main interface between suppliers and your colleagues around the globe, fostering effective communication and collaboration while providing value to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a diversified set of suppliers for the Glasseal Malaysia business
- Act as primary contact for suppliers, both for day to day business and for development and improvement.
- Establish and maintain supplier performance metrics, measuring performance against them
- Work with colleagues around the globe to improve the Glasseal Malaysia business with a focus on supplier management and development.
- Use the local MRP system (Navision) to ensure production requirements are met with suppliers.
- Communicate effectively with the various departments in the factory to ensure customer requirements are met
- Assist floor engineers and production with failure analysis and recommend corrective actions
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Maintain quality and ethical standards
- Enforce safety rules and maintain a clean, orderly work environment
- Participate in special projects and teams as needed
- Participate in supplier audits and asses suppliers capabilities to meet the delivery and requirement
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Industry-specific background, including knowledge of local suppliers and workforce
- Ability to communicate in English
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work in a complex, international environment with cross-functional teams around the globe
- Track record of technical and business problem solving and business process improvement
