Job Title: Product Development Technician

Join our dynamic team as a Senior Lab Technician, where you'll play a crucial role in prototyping and testing related to the design, manufacture, and customer support of our division products. You'll work directly with Project Engineers and other technicians, or independently, to ensure that product designs and samples are properly evaluated, and their performance is documented. We are looking for a candidate that possesses expertise in multiple technical areas for example: blowers, motors, and electronics. You'll organize and document your work with minimal supervision.
What You'll Do:
- Prototype Assembly & Testing: Assemble, construct, and test prototypes from engineering drawings and sketches; provide prototype analysis and feedback to engineers.
- Engineering Support: Complete routine Requests for Engineering Action (ECNs) as assigned.
- Data Analysis: Collect, prepare, and analyze test data to ensure compliance with performance requirements; provide and implement recommendations for manufacturing and test improvements.
- Procedure Development: Modify or create test procedures for manufacturing with support from Project Engineers; design and fabricate test fixtures.
- Manufacturing Assistance: Support plant manufacturing engineering by providing pilot production and assembly assistance and guidance.
- Customer & Marketing Support: Evaluate product performance in applications; recommend alternative solutions.
- Technical Reporting: Create technical reports for use by Engineering, Marketing, and customers that accurately represent test results.
- Training & Development: Support the department by providing training to other technicians and engineers.
- Precision Maintenance: Assist engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair, setup, and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment.
- Design & Development: Design linear and rotating assemblies including material specifications; develop new test equipment, handle mechanical, electrical, and data acquisition aspects of test equipment.
- Custom Test Setups: Work closely with engineering and manufacturing to develop custom test setups to meet customer requirements; document use of custom tests for production and perform the tests as needed.
What we are looking for:
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent required
- 5+ years relevant experience required; experience with similar products and/or fractional horsepower electrical motors and related products a plus.
- Proven knowledge of test and application of fan systems components, motors and/or electronics. Knowledge or experience with typical lab test equipment, ability to fabricate new designs, proven creativity in problem solving required.

- This position requires the ability to lift 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Manual handling of components required during operation.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
